I do not ship things on time. I have a folder of projects that were going live “next week” in 2024. Deadlines I set myself are worth precisely nothing, because the only person who finds out I missed one is me.

So this makes the deadline someone else's business. You pay a couple of dollars, your promise goes on a public page with a clock on it, and if the clock runs out that page becomes a record of the fact. The money is not the incentive — two dollars is not an incentive. Being visibly, permanently on a Wall of Shame is.

I did not want to launch this with a wall of invented names to make it look busy, so there are none. The first challenge on the site is mine, which means the first entry on the Wall of Shame may well also be mine.

That seems like the correct amount of skin in the game for someone selling public deadlines.

It is not a productivity app, it does not check whether you shipped, and it will not nag you. It is one deadline, one public page, and one binary outcome.
