PRIVACY
PubPerch Ltd (no. 17404862) is the data controller for Ship or Shame. Registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Contact [email protected].
What we collect
Your email address, your display name, and whatever you put in your challenge: project name, promise, optional X handle, optional project URL, and — if you escape — the link you say you shipped.
We also keep a record of your payments. We never see your card details; Stripe handles those.
What is public
Everything in your challenge except your email address. That is the entire point of the service and you confirm it when you book in.
Why we are allowed to hold it
To perform the contract you entered into when you paid, and — for payment records — to meet our legal obligation to keep accounting records, which is six years.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to erase your personal data at [email protected]. When we do, we redact your name, handle, project name, promise and links from the public page and hide it.
We keep the payment record, because we are legally required to, and the challenge continues to count towards site-wide totals in a form that is not linked to you. We cannot remove a challenge from the memory of anyone who already saw it, and we do not control screenshots or reposts.
Abandoned entries
If you start a challenge and never pay, we delete that record — including the email address you typed — within seven days.
Who else sees it
Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Cloudflare (traffic and bot protection), and Hetzner (hosting, in Germany). Email is sent from EU infrastructure. We do not sell anything to anyone.
Cookies
A session cookie when you are logged in, and a referral cookie that remembers which challenge sent you here so the person who referred you gets the credit. Nothing else, and no advertising trackers.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
